Al-Faisal College engaged Amicus to transform their existing library into a vibrant, dynamic space that would energize students and foster engagement. Their vision was to infuse the library with color and life, creating distinct learning environments that would captivate and inspire students.
The project posed unique challenges, including working within an active school environment with limited access and adhering to a tight schedule.
The design strategy involved the use of natural materials, innovative layouts, and vibrant colors to uplift the space. Amicus created distinct zones within the library, including:
- Story Time Area: A dedicated space for elementary school students to engage with stories and creative activities.
- Study Rooms: Equipped with computers for older students needing focused study time.
- Flexible Teaching Spaces: Three adaptable areas separated by operable walls to facilitate various teaching methods and events.
Amicus collaborated with skilled suppliers to produce custom elements with exceptional craftsmanship. Managing the project within the live school environment was handled expertly, and partner Lomac successfully executed a complex floor design, integrating multiple finishes and operable walls within the designated timeframe.
The newly revitalized library now offers a welcoming and stimulating environment for students of all ages. The thoughtfully designed zones cater to diverse needs, from quiet study areas to flexible teaching spaces. The library's adaptability also allows it to host various events, further benefiting the school community.
Overall, the upgraded library has become a vibrant hub of knowledge and inspiration, sparking a love for learning and positively impacting the school community.
