The architectural image of the new passenger terminal is inspired by a unique collection of Permian wooden sculptures. The key element of the main facade is a huge "angel's wing", as if carved from wood and hovering over the main entrance. The entrance itself is presented in the form of a snow-white portal, echoing the modern symbolism of the city in the form of the letter "P".

Task: to develop a passenger terminal project that could become a symbol of the Perm region, using the most efficient planning and technical solutions.
Solution: based on the basic planning scheme, an original imaginative and constructive solution of the terminal complex was developed, combining functionality, comfort, safety and image component.
Functional diagram
When developing the Perm airport passenger terminal project, the Asadov architectural bureau and the general designer of the project, Spektrum company, took as a basis the functional planning and logistics scheme of the passenger terminal of the specialized company WP ARC (Germany). This scheme was tested by designers at Saratov airport and proved its effectiveness. All functional areas are optimally placed inside the perimeter with a side of 140 meters, providing convenient and secure communications within the complex. On the side of the airfield, a gallery with an extension and several perpendicular blocks is attached to the terminal, to which landing ladders are connected. In addition to the design of the terminal itself, a master plan for the surrounding area was developed, including landscaping of the square in front of the main entrance to the airport, as well as the location of the hotel and multi-storey parking lot, the construction of which is planned for the next stages of the project.
Designs and technologies
The design solution is based on a universal frame system made of monolithic reinforced concrete with a base pitch of 9x9 meters. In areas requiring more space, a double pitch is used, and in special cases, in areas requiring increased presentability, such as a common room and a hall in the departure area, large-span structures are used, which are an integral part of a complex roof structure.
The cover above the terminal is an original spatial structure, lined with gold-colored metal panels from the outside. His three-dimensional composition is based on the image of a wooden sculpture of a cherub kept in a local art museum, based on which a high-tech solution was developed, implemented by Alfa-Stroy from Yekaterinburg.
The structure overhangs the stained glass perimeter of the main volume of the terminal. The extension of structures beyond the perimeter is up to 10 meters at the corners of the building.
Shell and facade system
The surface of the coating on the side of the main facade is curved in a smooth arc like a sail or an airplane wing, and above the sides it is made smooth, as if cut off by a huge blade. The curved part of the coating is made of a U-shaped profile, which was secretly attached to a metal sheet. The result is a texture that vaguely resembles the structure of a tree. The smooth parts of the coating were made of polished metal sheets. The stained glass facades of the terminal are decorated with decorative images resembling stylized images of fossils and fossils dating back to the so-called "Permian period". On the side facades, in the areas of technical and office premises, the stained glass windows are partially covered by a system of horizontal imposts. For natural illumination of the terminal, curved lights are included in the coating design, continuing the main "winged" theme.
Interior design
The interior of the complex was designed by the UNK project bureau, selected on the basis of a competition. Their proposed design code is based on the use of a restrained color scheme of white, gray and ochre shades, floral prints and polished metal in a high-tech style.
Safety and comfort
All architectural and interior solutions of the terminal meet the increased requirements for safety and durability. Special attention was paid to the convenience of operation and the comfort of passengers.
