Architectural Statement:
The proposed Airlie Business Park is sited on one of the most prominent sites in Airlie Beach, located on the corner of Proserpine Shute Harbour Road and Paluma Road intersection. Graphic panels, metal screens, and built-in signage enhance the intersection and establish a strong visually interesting Architectural connection. The buildings along Paluma Road and Shute Harbour Road allow dual access.
The primary vehicular access is internal through the visitor car park attached to covered walkways and shop fronts. A long street frontages separate covered walkways encourage secondary pedestrian access. This strategy of dual access building provides for adaptability. The resultant buildings are more transparent which makes them welcoming while assisting casual surveillance. Other buildings along north and western boundaries are approached through vehicular access on Paluma Road.
