Located in the heart of Yerevan, AGBU (Armenian General Benevolent Union) Yerevan Building was designed by French Armenian architect Aris Adamian in cooperation with the Narek Sargsyan Architectural Studio. The building has five floors and a rooftop cafe. It serves as the headquarters of AGBU Armenia and as an office space for other organizations. The facade of the building symbolizes the past and the interior the present. Combined, the building represents Armenia’s grand history, its current vibrant community and its bright future.
The innovative interior design combines traditional and contemporary elements. The interior is extremely modern allowing for the infusion of light, which is accentuated with the use of glass and natural materials. The interior’s transparent concept is to facilitate a collaborative working environment. The curved glass features separating various spaces within one encompassing space, allow for privacy and openness in one space. The AGBU headquarters also includes a large hall for lectures, film screenings and other public events. The building is a state of the art facility that incorporates the latest green technologies such as thermal insulation and solar panels to generate electricity.
