The Goyang City Indoor Sports Arena is a 6700 seat multi-function arena designed primarily to accommodate basketball and gymnastics. The program also consists of a 1500 seat 12 lane racing pool, dive platforms, handball court, fitness center, ballroom and cultural facilities that cater to restaurants, retail and daycare.Aero was developed to be distinct yet harmonious with the surrounding sports campus. The shape is curvaceous, streamlined and efficient, creating dramatic space over multiple sports venues in the most economical way. The structure, made of an expressed diagrid results in a very strong shell that is thinner and lighter than more conventional truss structures.
