This project involved substantial remodelling and extension to a previously renovated Queenslander, high on the hill in Taringa. The need for the redesign was to better connect indoor and outdoor spaces to the gorgeous established gardens and improve light and air qualities within the house. On a more pragmatic level, car accommodation was also added to the front of the property which in turn afforded the opportunity to establish a new and more dramatic entry sequence. Entry is now via a contemporary landscaped terrace which allows the owners and visitors to enjoy city views. Internally walls have been removed, skylights have been added and beautiful new timber joinery and cabinetry have completely changed the experience and utility of the home. In addition to the architectural scope, SLa carried out a full interior design and decor service which allowed us to complete the house in such a way as to maximise lifestyle opportunities. This project was completed in February 2012.
