Adong is a contemporary dining space in Bielsko-Biała, conceived as a calm architectural composition rather than a themed interior. Inspired by principles of Japanese architecture, the project translates ideas of harmony, rhythm, and material honesty into a refined restaurant environment where light and proportion define the experience.
The main dining hall is organized as a restrained spatial grid. Modular timber wall panels establish rhythm and scale through repetition, while integrated indirect lighting emphasizes the horizontal order of the interior. This controlled backdrop supports focus, intimacy, and a sense of togetherness at the table.
Suspended above the seating area, sculptural golden volumes form a layered ceiling landscape. Their perforated metal surfaces interact with light, creating subtle reflections and spatial depth that shift throughout the day. Together with the softly illuminated, stone-like bar at the center of the space, these elements introduce warmth reminiscent of fire—an essential presence in Japanese culinary culture.
Materiality is deliberately restrained. Charcoal-toned timber, graphite furniture, and tactile plaster walls create a calm and cohesive base, complemented by natural greenery and minimal floral compositions. References to Japanese aesthetics appear only through crafted details and proportion, never as literal decoration, reinforcing a coherent architectural language.
Designed by Eklekt Atelier, Adong offers a serene and intimate dining environment where architecture shapes emotion and light becomes the primary ingredient of the spatial experience.
