Admirals Row is a loft penthouse conceived as a serene retreat fostering simplicity, calm, and under-stated luxury. Situated at the top floor of a tower overlooking the downtown area, the project presents two distinct programs: the private bedrooms and office and the open floor plan of the living, kitchen, and primary bedroom. The braided arch of the entry way creates a focal point through the open living spaces - and beyond to the city below. The open plan dissolves partitions and creates sweeping views and uninterrupted natural light. The kitchen is clad in charred yakisugi cabinetry surrounding a massive elemental marble island. A blackened steel clad fireplace hearth separates the primary bedroom and the seating rooms - offering a minimal, monolithic separation - expressed an interior sculpture. Plaster troweled walls and soft linen curtains sweep the perimeter of the open living areas - allowing natural light to dance within.
