In year 2013, the Studio design team worked on a residential projects north part of Karaj. Construction began in late 2013, but due to economic shortcoming for the investor, construction operation stopped in middle 2014, but in early 2016 resumed again. In this project, feasibility and possible implementation of a combined wooden and stone façade, due to land position on a crossroad corner, which represent 2 main views was a great challenge. Design team worked on 4 alternatives with different approaches, since building’s residential function and limitation on structure, floor height and construction policies in our country, we focused on surfaced skin instead of volumetric façade. The main idea was to emphasis on materials specifications, floor divisions and optimized openings. A combination of horizontal and vertical guidelines also marked as lighting path to represent more legibility.
