This rooftop addition to a Fort Greene brownstone features an artist studio with a wood deck, built-in planters for intensive plantings including evergreens mugo pine and dwarf blue spruce, perennials such as coreopsis and salvia, and creeping vines boston ivy and wisteria.An extensive green roof was designed for atop the studio addition. Intermixed with plantings of dianthus, fescue, and various sedum varieties is a stepping path made of cross sections of a locally harvested Black Locust log and a small stump for taking the expansive Manhattan skyline view.
