In EDA's entry for the new COntemporary Art Museum of Buenos Aires competition, the design draws influence from the physical and historical contexts of
Buenos Aires. Situated at a unique junction where various architectural
styles converge, the museum incorporates local features throughout
particular volumes of the building. Through stacking the galleries whose
varied mass are conveyed through material and volumetric shifts, the
theme of compression alters the perception and experience of the museum
from the ground level, up. At the base, the building penetrates the site
with seismic landscape implications. Green space is uplifted,
establishing the Museum site as a sculpture park and revitalized
sociocultural node.
