ACRA - Adriatic Casino & Resort Albania
From the very first idea of how to create a high end resort focusing on a contemporary way of life on a 500 hectares seaside plot at Albanian Adriatic Sea, it became clear that the main concept was to design a visionary and revolutionary development which would gather users for hotels, condos, casinos, 3 championship golf courses and a 500 slip marina. The aim was to create a flexible, multi-purpose space, which is seamlessly integrated and caters to all needs. The landmark skyscrapers located inside a multi-function oval are the centerpiece of the ACRA development boasting with its 75 floors and 402m antenna to be one of the tallest towers in Europe, if not the highest.
The master plan has been organized through a main curved axe which ends at a huge ellipse (1000m by 500m) which shapes the roads and the marina and organizes the whole development. The main uses also include apartments, luxury villas, yacht club, auditorium and a multiuse Central District building which combines in a single structure a Healthcare Center, Educational Center & an Office Center.
The environment and atmosphere of the resort are constantly evolving with the time of day and seasons, thus transforming the experience continually. The sensory experience of space is demonstrated in the play of shadows, the reflection of sunlight on the different buildings and outdoor spaces, their glittering in the waters, and the tranquility of the sea and golf courses. The harmony created by these elements evokes a sense of vibrant playful architecture. The ACRA is a place that is built upon a desire to be a part of this city, its culture and its people. The resort is a fluid point in time that will morph and evolve as its environment does, giving Albania a new face to the world.
