A simple, simple wooden house in a newly developed residential area in Kundl "was the
requirement by the building owner.
Since in the new settlements on the part of communities, mostly only the allotment and a
general development plan is set, we tried here, especially the public streets, to address the
access and the transition to the private sector.
Thus forming a separate one-storey building (garage, porch, storage, gateway) with
upstream parking spaces and a public square in front of the road to be used in the future by
the residents especially the children (ball games, cycling, etc.).
The house as a separate two-storey building is the "next room house" completely separate
and passes through three stages to the level of the ground floor.
After this "staged" way to centrally located entrance, you enter a spacious lobby where a
delicate wooden staircase connects the floors and allows a clear view to the north.
From here an input leads to the right to a private dwelling unit (staff room, preparation room
in the first quilt), who learns through the upstream building intimacy and oriented towards the
east and south. To the left leads into the open plan living and dining area overlooking the
garden and the south porch.
The upper floor is divided equally by the Rose room into two sections, one for the kids with
their own bathroom and the other for the parents with cupboards, bathroom, bedroom and a
large balcony.
According to the orientation of the building, the east, north and west facades were designed
as a "gay" perforated facades glazed the generous south. The floor to ceiling opening in the
façade on the upper floor was closed by a stainless steel grid.
Constructively all the walls and ceiling were designed as solid wood components (BBS),
which were insulated from the outside and clad with a vertical open bar facade in larch.
All glazing is performed oiled as fixed or moveable window elements in larch.
Since most of the interior was made by a carpenter according to our plans, the interior is now
a perfect whole and makes the builders still have plenty of room to bring their own personal
touch.
