ABB Russia new headquarters occupies two floors in one of Moscow business centers.
MAD Architects has been tasked to organize ergonomic, open workspace that meets the requirements of the ABB new global development program.
On the top the architects have positioned the reception area with a spectacular ceiling lighting. There are also offices of top management, lawyers, financiers and IT area. Employees of the other departments work on the floor below. Their working area is an open space with grey carpet and white ceiling panels. Currently about 10% of workstations are a hot desk: at different times it may be occupied by different persons. In the future, up to 90% of workstations is planned to make "free."
The architects have created a huge variety of places for a team or solitary work and for informal communication in the new office. They can be easily identified by the bright design, the dynamic pattern of carpet tiles and open ceiling communications painted graphite. Here are the so-called collaboration area, team rooms – a small rooms for discussion, traditional meeting rooms, sofas with high backs where you can chat with a colleague face-to-face, and even telephone booths for private calls. Fully equipped kitchens on each floor and a shower complete the image of modern ergonomic office.
In this project the customer himself had installed a system of "smart house": the automatic mode controlling the level of illumination and thermal regulation of the office. The system is also connected with projectors and curtains in the meeting rooms.
