Large, sculptural walls envelopes this walk-up shophouse unit in the heart of a historic district that integrates form and function seamlessly. Designed as an office/entertainment space as well as a gallery space, a series of curved acoustic partitions flanks both sides of the main space and serve as a canvas for the owner to showcase his collection of art done by local past and present artists such as Chen Wen Hsi and Tan Choh Tee.
To create a visual balance, a combination of natural textures including warm, maple wood and rough grey travertino textured wall was chosen for the acoustic wall partition to create a contrasting canvas for the owner to curate. To provide visual continuity and connectivity, large format Breccia tiles were used throughout to unify the space.
