The renovation of a 1930s apartment has been an architectural experiment on the multi-layer character of living. In life there is no clear distinction between the way we function, sense and perceive the environment. Instead of solid walls, clear glass intensifies this interaction, through reflections and transparency. A glass enclosure plays with intimacy, while a glass spiral seating element hosts social life. Emphasizing on the diachronic nature of the building, all structural elements are embraced by treated copper and the exterior wall thickens to accommodate all amenities.
