The client requested for a facelift of this Bethesda
house and to improve the entry stair. The design presents a contemporary
sculptural structure that comprises of a steel and glass canopy attached on two
dramatic vertical feature walls. A horizontal deck with steel and glass railing
perpendicularly penetrates the feature walls to extend the new addition to the
other end of the house. The cascading planters and landings accommodate plants
and flowers to blend the structure into the surrounding landscaping. A stone
sphere fountain softens up the geometric forms with moving water and sound.
