The design of this bioclimatic house in Limassol, is based on the combination of two main volumes, which are translated into the final composition. They are enclosed in two frames that characterize morphologically the synthesis, while function as passive shading canopies. Generally, the design is driven by simple geometries reaching the contemporary minimalistic trends, which led to the use of cold colors, large wooden surfaces and the use of the neutral white color. The spaces are separated functionally into public and private and placed in different levels, ground and first floor, achieving a functional layout with a full exploitation of the environmental conditions for the achievement of energy savings and thermal comfort for the users. The layout of the spaces was designed in such a way in order to achieve the required functional connections between the internal spaces, and at the same time the building “opens” to the south taking advantage of natural light and solar energy.
