As part of the annual event to reclaim public spaces in winter time in the northern city of Montreal, we proposed for the 2013-2014 edition a giant artwork made of 500k bottles. As a social event, the gathering of bottles would be a citizen driven effort, as well as underline the amount and scale of plastic objects we ''throw to the sea''. This time, the bottles thrown in the sea will have a known destination : Montreal's main plaza, Place des festivals. In 2009, our stunt ''Champ de pixels'' was a carpet of light that launch this unique annual temporary urban initiative. In 2011, the ice cloud created a ceiling of light hovering over the plaza. In 2013, we underline the perimeter, still with out building connections with a veil of light. As messages thrown to the sea, echoing a giant scroller with pixel-bottles, the citizens and visitors will send text-messages to winter... unlike the unknown destinations of twits and bottled messages, the giant artwork, will collect moods swings, poetics affirmations, political statements and unveil them in a specific site, the plaza.Uniting for a moment urban plaza and web social plate-forms, the ''500k Messages in a bottles'' will reanimate the winter citylife in Montreal.
