Marazzi & Paul have designed and built for 3M their new EMEA logistics headquarters in Langenthal. This is the first step in a major dynamic shift of the area from an industrial zone to a business and residential area. Mobimo is developing the overall area shift.
The 5,800 square meters building will host up to 350 employees in a space with progressive design and high technological and environmental standards.
The space designed by the Zürich architecture agency Marazzi & Paul, is flexible and focuses on transparency and communication. In addition to having received the Minergy label, the site will be entirely energy self-sufficient thanks to a system of autonomous heat pumps.
“3M is globally known for having innovative and design work spaces. It was essential to create a space that will facilitate the new ways of working and communicating” says Alfred Paul, President from Marazzi and Paul Architects. It includes a mix of fully-equipped conference rooms, focus rooms and break out zones for informal meetings, open spaces and shared offices as well as a large Atrium for all employee meetings. The project was completed in a record time of 19 months.
