Housed in a listed building at the historical center of Athens, '36' is setting the stage for an opulent hospitality experience that nevertheless feels fresh and unpretentious. In the interior it have been designed two independent contemporary apartments through a lens of elegance and simplicity.
The inner hall leads to the entrance of the ground floor and 1st floor apartment. A series of sculptural freestanding elements juxtaposed with the surroundings and sparking a dialogue between heritage and modernity.
In the ground apartment, wall panels, marble effect floor and black and white tones introduce a familiar feel to space and develops a poetic gesture that further deepens the apartment's connection with the city. The use of mirror it blurs the boundaries between material and immaterial reality. Transparency, form division and spatial connectivity are the principal elements here. Everything leads up deeper, at the back of the apartment, to an atmospheric patio detached from the sounds of the city.
An internal stairway leads up to the 2nd floor. Same as on the ground floor, transparency and spatial connectivity prevails. The roof lifts up the space and allows the natural and artificial lighting to tell their story.
