This project transforms an aging condominium in Aree, Bangkok, into a tranquil sanctuary for a young family—a father, mother, and their baby daughter. The design centers on the concept of Spatial Tranquility, creating an interior environment that provides a serene contrast to the vibrant urban landscape outside.
Natural materials are thoughtfully integrated throughout the space. Warm natural white oak is used for both flooring and walls, creating a cohesive and inviting palette. In contrast, dark granite stone with a flamed texture adds tactile depth and a sense of connection to nature, used as accents throughout the apartment, including the kitchen counter and bathroom. These materials together evoke a cocoon-like, cave-inspired atmosphere that promotes relaxation and emotional balance.
The spatial planning maximizes storage, ensuring that the medium-sized condo remains organized and visually uncluttered. Sliding doors allow spaces to be seamlessly connected, enhancing flexibility and allowing natural light to fill the interior. Bespoke furniture and built-in designs are carefully curated to maintain a harmonious and cohesive aesthetic, while selected finishes and integrated electronics are thoughtfully chosen to align with the overall design concept.
This home is a carefully crafted retreat, designed to awaken the senses and evoke treasured memories. It serves as a sanctuary for mental and physical relaxation, providing moments of calm and comfort within the fast-paced context of urban life.
