This project is an exercise in designing a series of residential units on a plot measuring 5 meters wide by 30 meters long. The design sought to reinterpret the concept of the villa with a contemporary approach.
Aiming to create high-quality living spaces for four individuals or young couples with diverse and sometimes shared needs in a bustling urban environment, the design ensures natural light and airflow for each unit. These four adjacent houses, each approximately 40 square meters in interior space, along with generous roof terraces and distinct staircases. The interior of each house is divided into three levels, each offering a unique character.
• First Level: The main entrance to each house is designed as a small, intimate courtyard. The living and dining areas are integrated with these courtyards, allowing for a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces when the windows are open, thereby, natural light and fresh air blend harmoniously with the cozy interior space
• Second Level: This level accommodates the sleeping area and balconies, with staircases leading to the roof terraces.
• Third Level: The roof terraces offer expansive views of the surrounding area.
Despite their small scale, these houses are designed to be filled with natural light, ventilation, and open space. This project aspires to provide the amenities of standalone residences on a smaller scale and with high quality, in dense urban areas for the contemporary generation.
