The Main road apartments consist of 162 units onto the site over 3 floors with a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments of which every apartment has its own balcony and a braai. A series of chimneys create a rhythm on the facade while mirroring the second floor units so that their balconies act as a fire break. This results in an articulated facade which differs on every elevation, with deep recesses for solar control and a combination of solid and transparent balustrades for privacy and to screen off the sun. The building had to step down towards the West with an entire floor to reduce the height of the columns and allow for basement parking. Communal green space on top of the roof with an action soccer field and braai area encourages a sense of community where residents can spend time with friends and family while enjoying the spectacular views over the city.
