We gut renovated the bathroom of the apartment, converting the oversized bathtub to a large shower, and removing the closet to open up the whole room. The closet enclosed the washer/dryer so instead we built a base cabinet to hold the washer/dryer side by side under a folding counter. The walls were clad with black slate tile, floor to ceiling, and we upgraded the lighting. We also removed the wall separating the second bedroom from the living room and installed a wood/glass sliding partition.
