London Terrace Towers Apartment was completed 90-years after the complex of 1,700 apartments covering an entire city block in West Chelsea in 1931 for the owner of a 750-square-foot one-bedroom who reached out about a gut renovation, but didn’t quite know where to begin. After meeting with Dr. Anne Valentino, this client pursued an updated layout with an open plan kitchen / dining/ living room and new bedroom suite. Architectural design transformed the outdated floorplan into a coherent and elegant dwelling with an innovative integrated, high performance ceiling to gently illuminate the dim courtyard orientation of the space. The new bedroom outfitted with George Ranalli DESIGNS customized ‘floating bed and headboard’ upholstered in Donghia silk and six hideaway storage drawers is adjacent to a luxuriously efficient dressing area offering a walk-in closet and built-in cabinets aplenty flanked by custom doors. The kitchen wrapped in marble features Sub-zero, Gaggeneau and Miele appliances and 180-cubic-feet of under-the-counter storage with fittings by Hefele to capture every organizational moment and a full walk-in panty. Custom designed casegoods for library and wireless device storage.
