Working with Primo Properties and Smithbuilt, we came up with a design that modifies an existing 1970s residence into multi-unit housing. The existing roof over the main residence is sliced off, and a new cantilevered second floor with accessible roof decks is popped on top. This allowed us to create a larger, three bedroom unit on the main floor, and a new one bedroom and two bedroom unit on the upper floor. All this, in addition to the existing two bedroom ADU over the garage, makes 4 new housing units available in what is a restrictive market in the Roaring Fork Valley.
