A modern, sustainably designed office building offering occupants and patients a tranquil space for care despite being located on one of the busiest streets in the city.
We wanted to create a space that would be sensitive to both the user and the urban fabric. The ground level meets the street and is transparent to create a relationship between occupants and pedestrians while the overall building has a simple broad stroke to be understood by a fast paced passing vehicle. The parking is tucked under the building and not visible to the passerby and is 80% open to eliminate the need for mechanical ventilation.
The building is designed for Platinum LEED certification with many green features including passive solar and photovoltaic panels, rainwater collection cistern and natural filtering system, and functional windows and skylights to bring in both natural light and air.
