This single-family house is located in a residential area in Escobar, Province of Buenos Aires. The lot is located with its access towards a south-west orientation and has a lake on the back towards its north-east side.
Conceptually the house is based on the idea of turning boxes rotated in a way that the benefits of both the access to the lake and sun orientation are properly seized.
The ground floor conceived as an open space that expands to the backyard and its direct access to the lake and hosts all the common areas. On the ground floor, we can also find a space kindred on the traditional country homes of Buenos Aires, a “gallery”, an area for recreation and contemplation that also works as an expansion and intermediate space between the interior of the house and the surrounding nature.
On the first floor, we can find the private areas on a volume that turns, having this way all the bedrooms with a very favorable East/West orientation.
Connecting both floors there is the stair conceived as a sculptural object that differentiates itself from the boxes superposition and projects to the outside of the volumes becoming an independent connector of the pieces.
