Project 1306 is a residential house located on the front line on the southwest coast of Majorca. It is placed on a narrow plot on the edge of the coast, 105 m above sea level, with wide views of the open sea and the Mediterranean beach below. The goal of the project is to use the natural thermal conditions prevailing in the building area and to redirect the sea breeze so that it enters the house under a wide floating roof. Thanks to this, the interior of the building remains fresh in the summer without the need to use air conditioning. On the other hand, the orientation of the sun in winter helps to heat the building through its continuous glass facade. During the design process, the building's location, views, surroundings, and topography were taken into account. The design contains energy-saving solutions and renewable sources such as solar panels and geothermal energy.
After determining the program of the house, it was arranged in such a way as to fully utilize the building area. The building was designed with two bars offset from each other and a central entrance that opens in a V-shape towards the sea. Each wing of the house represents a day or night zone, so in the left wing there is a living area with a kitchen and a living room, and in the right wing there are bedrooms. The house program includes an open living space with a dining room and kitchen, four bedrooms, each with a bathroom, a small office, a spa with a Turkish bath, a sauna area, and a garage. The building is barely visible from the street, ensuring privacy. The surface of the water leads to the entrance of the house, which is entered through a large, fully glazed pivot door and leads to a long infinity pool located in the middle of the terrace on the opposite side. The building's façade was designed as a 136-meter-long continuous glass facade to allow views from anywhere inside the building. Advanced window technology was also selected to achieve a barrier-free façade with a minimalist window frame. From inside the house, it can be seen the shores of the Majorca coast. A special steel structure with a span of over 7 meters was chosen to achieve an accessible, cantilevered, yet very flat roof. The interior design, including the kitchen and bathrooms, is consistent with the building's assumptions. To complete the project, a garden composed of local plants was designed in the final phase.
