Sustainability and iconicity where the two confronting themes of 120 HOURS2014. Through a collaboration with Norway's biggest music festival, The Øya Festival in Oslo, we set out to challenge the architectural political, social and technical conventions that have been associated to the practice of green architecture in the last decade.
The assignment was to design a structure that manifested a new take on the problem of creating a sustainable architecture. the wording of the assignment set up a conflict of interest in demanding an icon for the uniconic. This forced the participants to reinvent the ideas of sustainability within the framework of Architecture.
