In the second year of 120 HOURS the competition moved to Trondheim, based out of Norwegian University of Science and Technology and coordinated by the 3rd place participants from 2011, John Sanden and Ingvild Hodnekvam.
The assignment focused on the need for alternative thinking in relation to the problem of densifying the urban centers of Norway. By assigning what appears as an impossible and unlikely site in the urban fabric of Trondheim and announcing the program as Student housing the competition initiated a discussion concerning our conventions of urbanity and living within the context of low density urbanism in scandinavia.
