The main idea of the project is create an non-traditional organization inside the office inspiring new flexible activities that now are usually divided into segmented spaces.
From the beginning the architects and the client wanted to create more pleasant environments with greater visual contact and integration between workstations and different sectors of the company.
We seek to understand each function and sector of the company to find a good design between the needs of isolation and communication between users. We were inspired by environments composed of traditional and sophisticated materials while at the same time we used offices as reference where personal relationships between employees become strongly present.
The notary decided to settle in a building whose floors were designed for small offices. The biggest challenge was create a large work room without walls in a place with large number of pillars, beams and chimneys of existing facilities. We used the double line of pillars present in the center of the building to create the circulation of the office where also happen the distribution of the sectors. In this way, we optimize the spaces of permanence in the greater spans of the building. The restricted and isolated functions were concentrated in the perimeter of the building and away from the intense circulations.
The program is divided into two floors. Within this office model, most of companies require users to be more concentrated and isolated but in the same time there are some specific areas that are open to the public like theater what make possible lectures and conventions for special guests. The project has needed to find a way to keep the needs of the company and at the same time create new colaborative and open spaces.
The joinery made it possible to fix issues such as the division of environments, functional problems existing in the old office, file organization as well as simplifying and easier handling and the process where the documents came to their final archiving.
The most interesting integration between environments happens on the second floor between the workstations, the files and the library witch was previously isolated by masonry and now are integrated spaces becaouse of the glass partitions. The glass ensures acoustic insulation between the rooms while maintaining visual contact between them as the office has an important historical archives now valued and preserved by the new glass box.
