100 Waymouth St is located on the western fringe of the City, in close proximity to key access routes. Whilst the site is currently obscure any development placed on it will form a significant gateway element.Careful consideration has been given to the building form .The north, east and west facades of the proposed building, which will be prominent, have been articulated to address the visual aspect. Whilst a screen is proposed to the east and west facades, for environmental reasons, the random placement of screen elements and colour will provide an interesting unique texture to the form which will assist in reducing the bulk and scale of the building. It is proposed that the screen be continued over the roof terrace to emphasize this element and to frame the building when viewed from the north. In addition the northern elevation has been articulated to provide some transparency and to avoid a blank wall to this prominent orientation. The proposed Architecture will compliment the adjacent building as it is a continuance of the current cascading built form which culminates into an element and provides an elegant stop end. The proposal is an example of what can be achieved on a small site with difficult physical constraints.
