The rather small-scale floor plan of the existing building from the fifties should be more generous. Open spaces and floating and barrier-free transitions between the interior and the exterior were part of the wishlist of the clients. Additionaly an elevator should connect the individual floors to each other.

The timber structure of the newly built attic floor was planked with a larch shuttering while the existing brick walls of the ground floor were given a thermal insulation composite system with a fine plastering. All exterior wall components (plaster, windowframes, blinds) were coated in the same color to achieve a monochrome surface.

The larch wood shuttering of the attic façade is repeated in the terrace flooring and the newly planted pines offer sun protection and privacy.
