This home showcases Bali and Srilankan influences with elegance and panache. The 7800 square foot house is split into two interconnected blocks that divide it into public and private spaces and was completed in two and a half years.
The integration of design and nature is visible throughout the house.
Only when you get over the beauty of the above image do you notice the near absence of walls. Floor to ceiling windows make the garden seem as though it were about to come indoors. A gentle breeze blows through the house enabling beautiful cooling cross ventilation that will be a blessing in summers.
Clean lines and open spaces characterise the design of this house. The white walls set off the combination of painted and polished furniture to give it the right balance of subtle sophistication and cheerful exuberance.
A play of floor heights and materials separates the formal and informal living room on either side of the foyer. The majority of the house is floored with natural Shahabad stone and beige coloured IPS “(Indian Patent Stone) with the exception being the wooden flooring of the informal living room which has also been raised six inches off the ground.
The house boasts of five bedrooms with two bedrooms being on the ground floor and three on the floor above. Four poster beds take the centrestage in each bedroom that open out to a sit out terrace overlooking the pool. Minimalistic bathrooms with black IPS walls complete the chic look.
