Chemetal is a massive collection of metal designs and laminates that are used in interior design projects worldwide. It’s a huge offering that’s sold in standard sheet sizes and best used in vertical and light duty horizontal spaces.
Chemetal makes a lot of its design materials in Massachusetts –brushing, aging and adding patinas, and sources others from all over the world: anodized aluminums from USA, European quality HPL metal laminates from Germany and deep, printed metals from Japan.
Most of Chemetal’s design materials are aluminum, brass or copper, which are lighter and softer metals that are easier to handle and fabricated with standard woodworking equipment.
Pictured here is a custom version of Chemetal #353 Alu Medium, produced on mill aluminum but emulating an aged steel look. It’s shown in the New Balance headquarters in Boston.
Chemetal is sold through the company’s international distributor network. Many designs contribute to LEED with up to 85% recycled content, as well as regional credits. 4’ x 8’ and 4’ x 10’ sheets sizes plus custom.
Treefrog and InteriorArts: While metal designs and laminates are the primary business of Chemetal, the company offers two more product lines. Treefrog is a prefinished real wood veneer laminate that’s made in Italy. It’s beautiful real wood combined with the ease of a laminate, all with European design quality.
InteriorArts is an HPL design laminate that’s not your everyday p-lam. The designs are different, and more fun, and there are lots of textured surfaces. Together, Chemetal, Treefrog and InteriorArts offer design professionals a complete selection of specialty laminates and building materials, all from a family business with a long history of quality and service.
