Victor Conforti formed his own architectural firm in 1972, opening his office in Sonoma and providing architecture tailored to local needs, heritage, and environment, as well as cost-conscious construction practices. He has been one of the leading architectural professionals in the area, having designed many of the prominent buildings in the Sonoma area, including numerous civic as well as commercial projects, all in harmony with the local historical architectural character.
The architectural approach of the firm is built around the concept of contextual design, wherein new buildings are carefully fit into the existing landscape and built environment surrounding the project, and are seen as a part of a larger fabric, rather than as architectural monuments in and of themselves.
This philosophy has created a level of design excellence that is the foundation of the firms work. Victor Conforti has received over a dozen awards from the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation for public and private projects, honoring new buildings as well as historic preservation projects; Napa Chamber of Commerce Civic Improvement Award, feature articles in national professional publications and for custom residential design.
