Urbanwasabi Studio Information
Urbanwasabi was established by Fang Wei in 2011. Fan Wei graduated from the graduate School of Architecture of Tunghai University, before starting Urbanwasabi he also had studied and worked in C+A-Coelacanth and Associates and Sou Fujimoto Architects in Tokyo. Currently he is also an adjunct lecturer at the department of architecture of National Cheng Kung University and FengChia University. Recent work done by Urbanwasabi includes: ‘House of Cloud’, ‘House of Wood’, ‘Invisible Village Gallery’ (AKA Qin Museum) in Taichung, ‘Wave Coordinates ’, ‘Black Orient’, ‘House of Terraces’, ‘Cloud Pillars: Taipei Art Museum; Shape House、Shape Stacking、SHOP!SHOP、Fab Cafe Taipei、House Collective in Tainan.
The compound word “URBANWASABI” shows the relation between artefacts and nature, and the relation between architecture and plants. We keep creating new space experiences, trying to create architecture that gives people lingering aftertaste, just like the soulfulspirit of wasabi in Japanese food.
