Tikari Works was established in 2014 by Nicola and Ty Tikari. The studio fuses the disciplines of architecture, construction and property development into a practice that acquires, designs and makes buildings and spaces.
The work is underpinned by a desire to find design solutions that combine pragmatism with a soulful, craft-based approach. With each project the office engages with the art of making in a way which is rigorously analytical, holistic, exciting, and meaningful. This inclusive approach informs all the work and helps the practice to resolve the conflicting dynamics of making buildings in complex urban environments.
In 2019 the office’s first built project, Pocket House, won a RIBA London Award, was shortlisted for House of the Year and won a special mention in the Stephen Lawrence Prize and Wood Awards. In addition, Wallpaper magazine has identified the practice as one of the world’s top emerging practices in 2019.
