The Mahattan Studio began out of spontaneous combustion in the summer of 1983 as an independent alternative to the usual architecture design studios driven by co-design.The first Manhattan Studio was started and taught by Lawrence Kutnicki, Enrique Norten, Gisu Hariri, Steven Holl, and Andrew MacNair.The current Manhattan Studio is part of the Instantute (for instantiation) under a kaleidoscopic umbrella of a Not Not University. The Idea of the City is the Campus.
