Born in Zürich in 1971, in 1997 I opened an architectural studio and started an academic activity. In the studio we develop architectural, urban and infrastructural projects like the new motorway junction at Bellinzona. Some of our projects such as the holiday home of 1996, the restoration of a ruined farmstead in 2000, the restoration of a farmstead in 2002 and the restructuring of a courtyard house in 2007 were awarded the prizes New alpine architecture 1999 and 2006, SIA Ticino 2007 and “Die Besten 2008”. Our finished projects include the apartment house in Pregassona of 2010, the house in Pregassona of 2010, and the apartment in Pregassona of 2011 and the house in Sonvico of 2011. In 2010 I participated in the Biennale of Architecture in Moscow. At the beginning of my academic activity I have been Kenneth Frampton's assistant at the Accademia di Architettura, Mendrisio, where in 2003 I founded the Workshop on International Social Housing and became a Lecturer in 2005. In 2009 the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, Armenia, awarded me an honorary doctorate. I was a Visiting Lecturer at the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori, Pavia, and a guest critic at some universities including EPFL and ETH. I have had the opportunity to give lectures in Argentina, Mexico, China, South Africa, Italy, UAE, Russia, Brazil and India and to appear in publications such as “JA, the japan architect” Tokyo, “Time+Architecture” Shanghai, “Hochparterre” and “Werk, bauen+wohnen” Zurich, “Archi” Lugano, “Architecture Today” London, “Piso” Guadalajara and “Domus” Milan. In 1998 I worked for three months with Oscar Niemeyer in Brazil; during my childhood I lived for two years in Peru, where I particularly remember the vastness of the Andean plateau. I hope that my education has been shaped by these two experiences. Martino Pedrozzi
