SHIDA is an avant-garde socio-architectural think tank with its origins in India, that started sometime during 2005-06 at Sir J J college of Architecture, Mumbai. Its main 'area of concern' is the possibility of an architecture suited for the emergent consumerism in India post 2010.
The practice’s work ranges in scale from envisioning skyscrapers for the near future, Project: INDOSTAR & University Campuses and Resort Complexes, to as small as a tattoo for a Financial Analyst in Manhattan. The scope of SHIDA's expertise encompasses Masterplans , the design of Sustainable Urban & Rural Community Buildings, High end luxurious Interior Designing, Brand Identity Development and Product Design. There is also a strong interest in intelligent Building Facade Engineering, that arise out of seeing Architecture as our Third Skin, after biological skin and our clothes.
SHIDA is currently based out of New Delhi & Mumbai in India & Lille in France. Our collaborators include architects, designers and Urban Designers spread across the globe, from London to Taichung via Athens.
