Sei Studio is an award winning dynamic practice that specialises in forward-thinking, contextualised design solutions that reflect a sense of place, scale and culture. Our works blur architecture, urbanism, cultural analysis and landscape for unique solutions generating new possibilities while serving the community.
Combining intuitive design with computational tools, our expertise spans cutting edge urban infrastructure projects to schools, multi-scalar housing, restaurants, and masterplans for municipalities. We are local leaders in reconstruction and renovation of timber and Funkis houses from 1870-1940 and work closely with seasoned masters.
Our ongoing projects include construction of the viewing platform atop Bolafjall, Iceland's first extreme engineering feat of its kind - the project, a first prize win, was awarded 160 million ISK, the highest ever granted by the National Plan for the Development of Infrastructure and the Construction Fund for Tourist Sites. The construction is projected to be finished within budget.
Our upcoming projects include a brand new viewing platform at Vík that addresses safe access while being sensitive to local birdlife and geology, an international school that addresses evidence based needs of all users, and a community and context sensitive masterplan for downtown Bolungarvik in addition to extensions and restoration projects.
Sei Studio is actively involved in academia, building and material research, and is a recipient of several grants.
We offer people-centric design and consultancy services for architecture and urban planning for communities, organisations and people.
