llabb is an architectural firm founded in 2013 by Luca Scardulla and Federico Robbiano.
In the first years of training, the office focused on the development of furnishing accessories and design objects, working in a small workshop where ideas sketched and drawn in detail took shape. From the beginning, therefore, the idea behind the office is to conceive the architect as a craftsman who designs to realize and, by creating manually, learns to design.
The office definitively takes shape in 2016, choosing to keep its own laboratory, in order to integrate the prototyping and construction phase with the design phase.
llabb deals with architecture, design and graphics, applying the "artisan approach" in which the office strongly believes.
While there is a preference for this pragmatic approach to the job, on the other hand there is the awareness that digital tools offer enormous potential that must be integrated into the more "analogical" practice.
In the transition from the field of architectural design to the product design and graphics, the office benefits from the tools of its training as architects, applying, to non- conventionally architectural disciplines, a design method typical of Architecture, making all these disciplines as an integral part of the profession.
In these terms, the graphics are intended as construction of images and the product design as a reduction in scale of architecture.
BEAUTY IS SUBJECTIVE, QUALITY NOT.
llabb aims to design quality spaces, aware that these have an objective value, independent from every stylistic language.
A well-designed quality space is a harmonious space where people live better and, in this sense, the role of the architect has crucial importance and responsibility.
