Sam architecture is a Paris based architecture practice founded in 2007 by Boris Schneider. Grown in Frankfurt Germany, Boris Schneider studies architecture in Strasburg, Milan, and Marseille. After graduating in Strasburg in 2003, he works in the offices of Mario Bellini, Jean Nouvel, Francis Soler, Renzo Piano and Paul Andreu. Starting from this European background, Sam architecture is an open minded and worldwide-orientated practice. Boris Schneider won second prize in 2005th Europan-competition in Prague. In 2008, Sam architecture was awarded the "Nouveaux Albums des Jeunes Architectes"-prize by the french Ministry of Culture. Since 2010, Boris Schneider teaches at the Paris-Val-de-Seine Architecture school. Sam architecture works mainly on public buildings (School and Sport facilities) as well as collective housing. "We conceive architecture as both a rational and sensitive intervention in a built or unbuilt territory. Our goal is to design space whose functioning and use is immediately comprehensive, and places of generosity, capable to rouse new emotional, poetical and playful experiences."
