Regulating Lines is an architectural design concept that uses proportions of geometry to create harmony and order. These ideas are integral to the work of the Melbourne-based architecture and design studio, Regulating Lines, and form the core tenet of its philosophy.
Architect Paul Jones and Interior Designer Kirrilly Wilson established this practice in 2012, bringing 30 years of combined experience, accumulated at leading design firms, to their boutique studio and offer a wealth of knowledge and skills gained on highly technical, complex projects, along with the flexibility and personal nature of a small practice.
The portfolio and experience of the practice includes bespoke residential, commercial, public, institutional, and hospitality projects.
The Principals Paul and Kirrilly are intimately involved at all levels of projects, adhering to a rationalised creative process that ensures their innovative designs are delivered with integrity, beauty, quality and sustainability. Embodied in all their work are an intrinsic process, meaning and logic.
Our holistic approach to design creates an intrinsic connection between the architecture and interiors, with one closely informing the other. We seek to distill the many layers and intricacies particular to each project into an elegant, concise and clear idea, which in turn expresses the unique nature of that project.
Each project brings a particular set of issues and opportunities determined by our client’s aspirations and budget, site characteristics and requirements of the end user. We embrace the challenge of responding to these issues and enjoy collaborating with our clients and others involved in the project to create and deliver successful, integrated, well-resolved, bespoke solutions.
Each project brief provides a proving ground for new ideas and through a dynamic process of research and consultation we aim to surpass our client’s expectations.
