Rustem Baishev MSc, RA, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, CSI sees building design as an all-encompassing task that belongs more in the fields of systems architecting and systems engineering, than it is in the field of commonly
perceived civil architecture. In that sense, architecture becomes the highest-level concept of a system
in its environment, in which rigorous investigations into a project's intended purpose, climate, urban
and site specifics, as well as formulation of programmatic, economic and life-cycle goals synthesize
into a high-performing, sustainable, tech-driven whole that spatially organizes and directs societal
processes. While composing such systems, a particular design aesthetics then arises merely as a by-
product of this structured methodology.
