Our manufacturing plant is state of art with best in the industry CNC
(Sawing), milling and finishing equipment complimented with
cutting-edge 3-D laser modeling scanners. Frequently, signature
projects such as the Gothic Pavilion Entrance at Yale's Bass Library or
the ambitious Kansas State House restoration require traditional
handwork utilizing highly?refined techniques for hammer and chisel
honed by artisans over centuries.Quarra Stone has the largest capacity and deepest expertise for
hand carving work in the nation. We have a long-term partnership with
one of Germany's most renowned master stone carving training programs
and host artists in residence who work with us on select projects and help mentor our team of master carvers.We regularly visit quarries across Europe, Africa and the Americas
to select the most appropriate stone for a particular condition,
climate and design application. Over a recent six-month period for one
client alone we examined stone at La Facciata Cave in Carrara, Italy,
in Borba, Portugal and Tarragona, Spain and viewed buildings in the
Netherlands and Belgium?all in the search and analysis for the perfect
stone.
