Kati Curtis, a Certified Interior Designer in the state of New York, founded Kati Curtis Design (formerly known as Nirmada) in 2005 after over 12 years of working in international architecture and engineering firms on both the east and west coasts. KCD quickly developed a following among an influential Manhattan client base, and expanded to include projects throughout New York City and the world. Featured in such publications as the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times, she has been privileged to work with many of New York’s most successful institutions and individuals.
Kati Curtis is a Certified Interior Designer in the State of New York (CID) and a Leadership in Energy Efficient Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. Kati is also certified by the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) whose core purpose is to protect the health, life safety and welfare of the public by establishing standards of competence in the practice of interior design.
Kati received her design training at the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design where she was recognized for her multifaceted vantage point and uncompromising aesthetic. Always on the cusp of latest technology, Kati’s team of contractors, craftsmen, interior designers, architects and specialists utilize current technologies combined with classic design tools to communicate and execute their designs.
Kati’s value of giving back to the design community includes teaching at the New York School of Interior Design and volunteering for Design Industry Foundation For Aids. Kati is one of the prestigious designers included in Access to Design from the New York Design Center and has served on the Board of Directors for the New York Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, The Northern California Chapter of the International Interior Design Association, and Interior Designers for Legislation in New York.
